About Dianthus orientalis Adams

Dianthus orientalis Adams, commonly called the Georgian pink, is a species of pink in the carnation family. It is distributed across the Levant, Anatolia, the Transcaucasus, the North Caucasus, Iraq and Iran, with a disjunct population in Tibet and Xinjiang, China. This species prefers drier, rocky, alkaline soils, and bears attractive lilac-pink flowers that bloom in autumn. It is currently being studied as a potential ornamental plant, and for use on green roofs.
