Diaethria clymena, commonly known as Cramer's eighty-eight, is a butterfly species that belongs to the family Nymphalidae. It was first scientifically described by Pieter Cramer in 1775, published in a fascicle of the work De uitlandsche Kapellen. This butterfly species is distributed across the range from Mexico to Peru and Brazil. Adults have a wingspan of approximately 30โ€“40 millimetres, which equals 1.2โ€“1.6 inches. The larvae of Diaethria clymena feed on plants from the species Trema lamarckiana, Trema micrantha, and the genus Theobroma.
