About Diachrysia stenochrysis (Warren, 1913)

Diachrysia stenochrysis (Warren, 1913) is a moth species belonging to the family Noctuidae. It occurs across Europe, the Caucasus, the Far East, Primorye, Ussuri, Korea, Manchuria, Mongolia, Transbaikalia, Siberia, and Japan. This species has a wingspan of 32 to 34 mm. In its original 1914 description, Warren described this taxon (then published as P. stenochrysis spec. nov., figured as 64 f) as matching or exceeding the size of Diachrysia chrysitis, but with narrower forewings. The costal portion of its median fascia has conversely oblique edges, and is nearly twice as wide at the costa compared to Diachrysia nadeja Oberthür, 1880. The described specimens, several individuals from Ichikishiri, Yesso, were held in the Tring Museum. The larvae of Diachrysia stenochrysis feed on Urtica species and other plants.
