About Desmodium glabellum (Michx.) DC.
Desmodium glabellum (Michx.) DC. is a herbaceous perennial plant. It reaches up to 5 feet in height, and grows with alternate, palmately trifoliate leaves. Its flowers range from light pink to purplish, and bloom from June through September. Its seeds develop in sticky pods, arranged in a row of 2 to 5 segments, and are produced from August to October. This species is very closely similar to Desmodium perplexum, and was only recently split from that species. Desmodium glabellum is native to the eastern and central United States. It can be found growing in fields, woodland borders, and disturbed areas.
