About Deschampsia elongata (Hook.) Munro

Deschampsia elongata (Hook.) Munro is a perennial grass that grows in dense clumps that can sometimes exceed one meter in height. Most of its leaves are grouped in a tuft near the base of the stems. Its inflorescence is made up of a thin row of V-shaped spikelets that lie parallel to the stem and are mostly flattened against it. This grass is native to western North America, ranging from Alaska through Wyoming to northern Mexico, and it also grows natively in Chile, South America. It can grow at any elevation, and is most often found growing in moist areas.
