Dendrobium moniliforme (L.) Sw. is a species of orchid, called Shihu in Chinese and Sekkoku in Japanese. This species is native to Japan, Korea, China, the Himalayas, and northern Indochina. It is the type species of the genus Dendrobium. In 17th century Japan, Japanese royalty used Dendrobium moniliforme to perfume clothing.
