Dendrobium chryseum Rolfe, commonly known as Dendrobium chryseum, is a flowering plant species that belongs to the orchid family, Orchidaceae. It is part of the genus Dendrobium, a group that contains over 1,600 species in total. This plant is an epiphyte that produces yellow flowers. Its native range covers the Himalayas, mainland Southeast Asia, south-central China, and Taiwan. It typically grows on tree trunks in broadleaf forests, at elevations between 1,700 and 2,600 meters, which is equivalent to 5,600 to 8,500 feet. Dendrobium chryseum holds sacred status for the Tsou people who live in the mountains of Taiwan. The Tsou people use this species to decorate the roofs of their traditional men's meeting houses.
