Dendrelaphis haasi, formally described by Van Rooijen & Vogel in 2008, is a slender snake species with an exceptionally long tail that makes up 34% to 38% of its total body length. The holotype specimen of this species measures 57.5 cm (22.6 in) from snout to vent, with an additional tail length of 33 cm (13 in). Dendrelaphis haasi has been recorded in Bangladesh, Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore. Its preferred natural habitat is forest at altitudes near sea level, though it has also been observed living in gardens. Dendrelaphis haasi reproduces via oviparity, meaning it lays eggs.
