About Deinandra corymbosa (DC.) B.G.Baldwin

Deinandra corymbosa, commonly called coastal tarweed, is a rare North American plant species belonging to the Madieae tribe of the Asteraceae family. This species is native to California, where it grows in the Coast Ranges stretching from Humboldt County to Santa Barbara County. Isolated populations have also been recorded further inland, in Shasta and Kern Counties; the Kern County population is found in an urban area within the City of Mariposa. Deinandra corymbosa is an annual herb that grows up to 100 cm (40 inches) tall. It produces numerous yellow flower heads, and each flower head contains both disc florets and ray florets.
