About Deeringia amaranthoides (Lam.) Merr.

Deeringia amaranthoides (Lam.) Merr. is a plant species that belongs to the Amaranthaceae family. Its distribution ranges from the western Himalayas, east across southern China, south through Southeast Asia and Indonesia, and continues across New Guinea to parts of Australia. Jean-Baptiste Lamarck first described this species in 1785 under the name Achyranthes amaranthoides. In 1917, Elmer Drew Merrill reclassified it as Deeringia amaranthoides.
