About Decinea percosius (Godman, 1900)

Decinea percosius, commonly known as the double-dotted skipper, is a butterfly species belonging to the family Hesperiidae. Its range extends from Belize northward to Mexico. It is an occasional colonist that reaches as far north as the lower Rio Grande Valley in Texas, United States. This species has a wingspan of 22–35 millimetres (0.87–1.38 inches). In southern Texas and Mexico, adult butterflies are active from March to November. The larvae of Decinea percosius feed on a variety of grasses, while adult butterflies feed on flower nectar.
