About Debregeasia orientalis C.J.Chen

Debregeasia orientalis C.J.Chen is a plant species that grows to a height of 1–4 metres (3 ft 3 in – 13 ft 1 in). It has slender, dark reddish branchlets. Its leaves are dark green, alternately arranged, shaped oblong to linear-lanceolate, and grow from dark reddish petioles. Its inflorescences bear many globose glomerules, each 3–5 mm in diameter. The fruits of this species are edible, and can be used to make wine. This species is native to Bhutan, north-eastern India, Nepal, China, Taiwan and Japan. It grows best in shaded, wet habitats in mountain valleys, at elevations ranging from 300–2,800 metres (980–9,190 ft) above sea level.
