About Dasychira grisefacta Dyar, 1911
Dasychira grisefacta, commonly known as the pine tussock or grizzled tussock, is a moth species belonging to the family Erebidae. This species was first formally described by Harrison Gray Dyar Jr. in 1911. It is distributed in North America, occurring in Alberta, across the range from British Columbia to Arizona and Oregon, and also in New Mexico, Montana, South Dakota, and North Dakota. Males of this species have a wingspan of approximately 42 millimeters, while females are wingless. The larvae of Dasychira grisefacta feed on Pseudotsuga menziesii, Tsuga heterophylla, Picea engelmannii, Picea glauca, Pinus ponderosa, and Pinus edulis.
