Dargida diffusa, commonly known as the wheat head armyworm, is a moth species in the family Noctuidae, first described by Walker in 1856. This moth is found across most of North America, with the exceptions of Yukon and Alaska. The wingspan of adult Dargida diffusa ranges from 27 to 36 mm. Adult moths are active from May to September, with flight timing varying by location. The larvae of this species feed on the seed heads of cereal crops and wild grasses, with a particular preference for Phleum pratense.
