It can be found in Sri Lanka, northern India, Nepal, Thailand, Yunnan (southern China), Peninsular Malaysia and Sarawak (Malaysia), Sumatra, Java, and Kalimantan (Indonesia), as well as the Philippines. The taxon Daphnusa fruhstorferi from Java is sometimes recognized as a separate valid species.
