Daphnis nerii, commonly known as the oleander hawk-moth or army green moth, is a species of moth in the family Sphingidae. It was first described by Carl Linnaeus in the 10th edition of his work Systema Naturae, published in 1758. This is a large hawk-moth species that lives across wide areas of Africa, Asia, and Hawaii. It is a migratory species: during the summer, it travels to parts of eastern and southern Europe, particularly Turkey. Very occasionally, it reaches western Europe including England, and can even travel as far north as Scotland or Finland.
