Dalea pinnata, commonly known as summer farewell, is a flowering plant in the pea family. This species is a short-lived perennial. It grows mainly in Florida, and can also be found in Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. Its natural habitats include sandhill, flatwoods, and scrub environments. It blooms in late summer, which attracts a variety of pollinators. It acts as a larval host plant for Zerene cesonia. This plant produces reddish buds, and its flowers are pinkish-white or lavender-white. It can grow to a maximum height of 2 feet, which is approximately 0.6 meters.
