Dalea neomexicana, commonly known as downy prairie clover, is a perennial herb belonging to the legume family Fabaceae. Its common name comes from the silky hairs that cover the entire plant. This species grows to a maximum height of 8 inches, which is 20 centimeters. It occurs naturally in the Sonoran Desert and grasslands ranging from southeastern Arizona to western Texas, and also extends into Mexico.
