About Dalea lasiathera A.Gray
Dalea lasiathera, commonly called purple prairie clover, is a plant species native to the Southwestern United States. Among the Zuni people, this plant has two documented traditional uses. The root is chewed as a candy, and this practice is especially common among children. After cooking is complete, hand-crushed flowers of Dalea lasiathera are sprinkled into meat stew as a flavoring.
