About Dalbergia ecastaphyllum (L.) Taub.

Dalbergia ecastaphyllum, commonly known as coinvine, is a flowering plant species that belongs to the legume family Fabaceae. It is native to tropical and subtropical coastal regions on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean, and has been introduced to India. It grows as a scrambling shrub or small tree, and occurs in mangrove swamps and other brackish wetland habitats, at elevations between 0 and 20 meters (0 to 66 feet) above sea level. This species is the source of Brazilian red propolis.
