About Daimio tethys (Ménétriés, 1857)

Daimio tethys, originally published by Ménétriés in 1857 and previously described under the synonym Tagiades tethys, is a species of butterfly belonging to the family Hesperiidae. It is distributed in eastern Asia, with recorded locations including the Amur region, southern Ussuri, Japan, Taiwan, and Korea. The species has a wingspan of approximately 40 millimetres, which is 1.6 inches. The larvae of this butterfly feed on a variety of host plants, including Quercus mongolica, Dioscorea nipponica, Dioscorea butatas, Dioscorea japonica, and Dioscorea japonica var. pseudojaponica.
