About Dacnis flaviventer d'Orbigny & Lafresnaye, 1837

The yellow-bellied dacnis (Dacnis flaviventer) is a species of bird in the tanager family Thraupidae. It can be found in Amazonian regions of Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Brazil, as well as in the eastern Orinoco River region of Venezuela. Its natural habitat is the canopy of tropical humid lowland forest. This species is mostly found across the Amazon Basin, but it is absent from the Guianas in the basin's northeastern portion. A section of its range extends from the main contiguous range into central Bolivia. In Venezuela, in addition to Amazonian drainages, the yellow-bellied dacnis also occurs in the eastern regions and headwaters of the Orinoco River drainage.
