About Cytaea dispalans (Thorell, 1892)
This species has the scientific name Cytaea dispalans (Thorell, 1892). In Thorell's 1892 original description, the male of Cytaea dispalans is characterized as follows: it has a pitch-black cephalothorax, with a broad white submarginal band on the sides formed by pubescence. Thin whitish scales in the inter-ocular area show golden or coppery coloration. The palps are slender and black, and are broadly testaceous at the base. The legs are brownish-testaceous, with black banding on the anterior pairs. The abdomen is ovate-lanceolate, and is blackish-brown on the upper surface. The back of the abdomen has thin bronze-green scales, while the sides have more golden scales. The approximate total body length of the described male is 4.2 mm. This species was later redescribed in detail by Patoleta & Trębicki in 2015, based on examination of multiple specimens and the species' type material. Cytaea dispalans is distributed across Southeast Asia. Confirmed distribution records exist for Myanmar and Indonesia, with Indonesian records covering the islands of Borneo, Java, and Lombok. The species has also been photographically documented in Singapore.
