About Cysteodemus armatus LeConte, 1851

Cysteodemus armatus, commonly known as the inflated blister beetle, is a species of blister beetle that belongs to the family Meloidae. This species is found in Central America and North America. Its mostly hairless wing covers, called elytra, are inflated enough to almost partially cover the thorax. These elytra are black with dense white spotting. The elytra are fused together along their midline, so this beetle is unable to fly.
