About Cyrtanthus obliquus (L.f.) Aiton

Cyrtanthus obliquus, commonly known as the Knysna lily, is a species of flowering plant that belongs to the amaryllis family. This plant produces spiralling leaves and large pendulous flowers. It is native to coastal grasslands spanning from KwaZulu-Natal to the Eastern Cape in South Africa. In its native range, the dry winter season occurs from March to August, and Cyrtanthus obliquus is adapted to this seasonal pattern, allowing it to survive hot, dry conditions.
