About Cyperus sphaerocephalus Vahl

Cyperus sphaerocephalus Vahl is a species of sedge native to regions of Africa. In South Africa, this species is commonly known as the golden headed sedge. It was first formally described by botanist Martin Vahl in 1805. Unlike most sedges, Cyperus sphaerocephalus is thought to be pollinated by insects, which explains why it has more conspicuous and colourful flowers.
