About Cyperus haspan L.

Cyperus haspan L. is a rhizomatous perennial, grass-like sedge with a tufted growth habit. It typically reaches a height of 0.2 to 0.6 metres, or 0.7 to 2.0 feet. It produces brown flowers when blooming between spring and summer. In Western Australia, this species grows in wet areas of the Kimberley region, in gravelly sandy-clay alluvium. Two subspecies are currently recognised: Cyperus haspan L. subsp. haspan and Cyperus haspan subsp. juncoides (Lam.) Kük.
