About Cyornis unicolor Blyth, 1843
The pale blue flycatcher, whose scientific name is Cyornis unicolor, is a member of the bird family Muscicapidae. This species was first formally described by Edward Blyth in 1843. Its distribution covers Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand, and Vietnam. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest, and subtropical or tropical moist montane forest. It looks superficially similar to the verditer flycatcher, but it has a paler blue plumage, with greyish underparts extending from the throat to the vent, and a discontinuous black eye patch. The pale blue flycatcher and the verditer flycatcher can often be found living in the same area.
