Cymothoe caenis, commonly called the common glider, is a butterfly species that belongs to the Nymphalidae family. This species is distributed across Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, southern Nigeria, Cameroon, the Republic of the Congo, the Central African Republic, Angola, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda, Tanzania, and Zambia. Its natural habitat includes forests and heavy woodland. Cymothoe caenis is a migratory species. The larvae of this butterfly feed on Rawsonia usambarensis, Rawsonia lucida, Caloncoba gilgiana, Caloncoba glauca, Oncoba spinosa, Oncoba welwitschii, as well as species from the Lindackeria and Uapaca genera.
