Cymbopogon obtectus is a perennial grass species belonging to the genus Cymbopogon. This grass is native to Australia, and was first formally described by Stanley Thatcher Blake in 1944. It grows in drier regions. Wild-harvested Cymbopogon obtectus can be used to produce an essential oil that has medicinal properties. The species is resilient to climate change, and has been used in revegetation projects.
