About Cymbonotus preissianus Steetz

Cymbonotus preissianus, commonly called Austral bears ear, is an Australian species in the daisy family Asteraceae. It is a perennial herbaceous plant that lacks stems, and grows up to 30 centimeters across. It produces yellow flowers between August and March. It grows in woodland and sclerophyll forest habitats, most often in disturbed areas, near leaf litter, and along drainage lines. The type specimen of this species was collected by Ludwig Preiss, and the species was formally described in 1845 by German botanist Joachim Steetz.
