About Cymbidium aloifolium (L.) Sw.

Cymbidium aloifolium, commonly known as the aloe-leafed cymbidium, is a species of orchid. It is distributed across Asia, with concentrations in China and Southeast Asia, ranging from Burma to Sumatra. This orchid grows either among rocks or as an epiphyte on other plants. The genus name Cymbidium derives from the Greek word kumbos, which means "hole, cavity". The species-specific epithet aloifolium is a Latin translation of the English phrase "aloe-leafed".
