Cylindropuntia acanthocarpa, with the scientific name (Engelm. & J.M.Bigelow) F.M.Knuth, is commonly known as buckhorn cholla. This is a cholla species native to the Mojave, Sonoran, and Colorado Deserts of North America. Alongside Cylindropuntia bigelovii, commonly called the "teddy bear" cholla, it is one of the most common cholla species found in these deserts.
