About Cyligramma latona Cramer, 1779

Cyligramma latona (Cramer, 1779) has a wingspan of 75–100 millimetres, which equals 3.0–3.9 inches. The uppersides of its wings are brown, with a yellowish band that crosses all of the wings, and a large eyespot located on the forewings. Its larvae feed on Acacia species. This is a widespread and common species. It can be found in western Sub-Saharan Africa, including Egypt and Guinea, and it also occurs in southern Africa.
