About Cyclophora maderensis (Bethune-Baker, 1891)

Cyclophora maderensis (Bethune-Baker, 1891) is a species of moth belonging to the family Geometridae. This species is found on the Canary Islands and Madeira. It has a wingspan ranging from 18 to 25 mm. Its forewings are ochreous, finely and densely dusted with rough pinkish scales. A wavy, centrally-located band with a grey tint and a paler ochre subterminal line appear on the forewings. Its hindwings are also ochreous in colour. The larvae of Cyclophora maderensis feed on plant species from the Erica genus, including Erica arborea.
