Curio ficoides (L.) P.V.Heath is a succulent spreading shrub that grows to over 1 meter tall. It has brittle succulent branches that shed their leaves on the lower portion of the plant. Its leaves are succulent, blue-green to blue-grey, and pruinose; they grow erect, taper toward their tip, are flattened laterally, and have translucent lines running down both sides. Its flower heads lack ray florets, and grow on a terminal, branching inflorescence.
