About Ctenoplusia albostriata (Bremer & Grey, 1853)
This moth species has the scientific name Ctenoplusia albostriata (Bremer & Grey, 1853). Its wingspan reaches about 30–42 mm. Its palps have a short third joint, and the male's hind femur is not tufted with long hair. Its head, thorax, and forewings are full brown with a grey tinge. The sub-basal, antemedial, and postmedial waved lines are brownish and indistinct. The orbicular marking is narrow, elongate, brownish, and has white edges. A white streak runs along the median nervure, connected to a brown streak with pale edges on vein 2 that ends at the postmedial line. A dark dentate submarginal line is present. Hindwings are fuscous with a pale base. The larvae of this species feed on a variety of plants, including Conyza bonariensis, multiple other Asteraceae species, and Dichrostachys cinerea. Other recorded larval food plants are Erigeron, Symphytum, Calystegia, Elephantopus, Calendula, Callistephus, Dahlia, Solidago, Aster, Abelia, Dichrocephala, and Polygonum.
