About Ctenoplusia accentifera (Lefèbvre, 1827)

Ctenoplusia accentifera (Lefèbvre, 1827), previously classified as P. accentifera Lef, has the following technical description and variation. The forewing is dull pinkish grey, dusted with darker pigment and marked by irregular olive brown patches. Forewing lines are pale and inconspicuous. The inner line runs obliquely outwards to the median vein, then curves inwards in waves, and is followed by brown patches. The outer line is lunulate, sits between two brown shades, and is interrupted below the middle by a large brown blotch. A brown blotch extends from the forewing apex, a triangular brown patch sits below the middle of the termen, and small patches run along the subterminal line, which bears a black white-edged tooth between veins 2 and 3. The mark below the median is inconspicuous, yellowish grey, finely edged with silver laterally, and oblique and parallel. The hindwing is brownish, with a dark outer line and a broad smoky fuscous border. The larva is green, with a white dorsal line and double white subdorsal lines. The spiracular line is white, less conspicuous at the front and yellower at the back. Larval tubercles are black and bear long hairs. The wingspan of this species is about 25 mm.
