About Crocus kotschyanus K.Koch
Crocus kotschyanus, commonly called Kotschy's crocus, is a flowering plant species in the genus Crocus of the family Iridaceae. It is found growing wild in the region from Turkey to the Caucasus and Lebanon. This species reaches a maximum height of 10 cm (3.9 in). It produces pale lilac-blue flowers during the autumn season, with sword-shaped leaves that emerge after flowering. Crocus kotschyanus has received the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.
