Crocothemis sanguinolenta is a dragonfly species belonging to the family Libellulidae. Its common names are little scarlet, slim scarlet-darter, and small scarlet. This species occurs in Africa south of the Sahara, including Madagascar, as well as the Levant and the southern part of the Arabian Peninsula. It inhabits areas in or near fresh water across a broad range of habitat types, ranging from semi-arid bush to tropical forest.
