About Crocanthemum carolinianum (Walter) Spach
Crocanthemum carolinianum (Walter) Spach, commonly called Carolina frostweed or Carolina sunrose, is a perennial flowering plant in the Cistaceae (rock-rose) family. Helianthemum carolinianum is a known synonym for this species. It grows in the southeastern United States, specifically in southern Alabama, the northern half of the Florida peninsula, and the Florida Panhandle. This species has alternately arranged leaves that are elliptic to obovate in shape, and grow 2 to 5 centimeters long. Its flowers bear five bright yellow petals.
