Crinum latifolium L. is a herbaceous perennial flowering plant that belongs to the amaryllis family, Amaryllidaceae. This plant grows from an underground bulb. Its flowering stems are stout, and grow to roughly 2 meters in height. The leaves are long, linear, and ligulate. Its flowers are white, and arranged in an umbel. This species grows naturally in Asia, ranging from India and Sri Lanka, across most of mainland Southeast Asia, to south China (specifically Guangxi, Guizhou, and Yunnan). It is also reported to be naturalized in the West Indies and the Chagos Archipelago.
