About Crataegus viridis L.

Crataegus viridis, commonly called green hawthorn or southern thorn, is a species of hawthorn native to the southeastern United States. This tree typically reaches a height of 5 to 15 meters. Members of this species show considerable variation in form, and many attractive ornamental forms can be selected from wild populations. The cultivar 'Winter King' is a widely recognized ornamental selection of this species.
