Crataegus pentagyna Waldst. & Kit. ex Willd., commonly known as small-flowered black hawthorn, is a hawthorn species native to southeastern Europe. Two subspecies of this species are currently recognized: Crataegus pentagyna subsp. pentagyna and Crataegus pentagyna subsp. pseudomelanocarpa. The fruits of this plant are most commonly black, though they sometimes develop an attractive purple color instead.
