About Crataegus flabellata (Bosc ex Spach) K.Koch

Crataegus flabellata, a species of hawthorn, has the common name fanleaf hawthorn. This species is native to the northeastern United States and the adjacent parts of Canada. In appearance, it is intermediate between two other hawthorn species: Crataegus macrosperma and Crataegus chrysocarpa. Crataegus macrosperma grows across the entire range of Crataegus flabellata, and also grows in the southeastern United States; it is very often misidentified as Crataegus flabellata.
