About Crassula tillaea Lest.-Garl.
Crassula tillaea (scientific name: Crassula tillaea Lest.-Garl.) is a succulent plant commonly called mossy stonecrop and moss pygmyweed. It is a small fleshy plant that only grows to a few centimeters in height. New growth of this plant is green, and it gradually turns orange, then deep red as it matures. It produces tiny triangular pointed leaves that are only a few millimeters long. Between each oppositely arranged pair of leaves, a single tiny flower or pair of tiny flowers grows, and these flowers measure about two millimeters in both length and width. The fruit of Crassula tillaea is a very small follicle that holds one or two seeds. This plant is native to Eurasia, especially the Mediterranean Basin, but it is also found as an introduced species in other regions.
