About Crassocephalum rubens (Juss. ex Jacq.) S.Moore
Crassocephalum rubens, also known as Yoruba bologi, is an erect annual herb that grows up to 80 cm tall. It is cultivated and consumed particularly in Southwestern Nigeria, and cultivation and consumption also occur in places as distant as Yemen, South Africa, and the islands of the Indian Ocean. Its mucilaginous leaves can be used dried or fresh as a vegetable in many different dishes, and are also used medicinally to treat a number of different ailments.
