Crambus praefectellus, commonly called the common grass-veneer or silver-striped webworm, is a moth species belonging to the family Crambidae. It was first described by Johann Leopold Theodor Friedrich Zincken in 1821. This moth is found in the United States and southern Canada, east of the Rocky Mountains. Its wingspan measures 18 to 25 mm. Adult moths are active between May and September in the northern part of their range, between April and October in mid-latitude areas, and are likely active year-round in southern Florida and Texas. The larvae of this species feed on a variety of grasses and cereal grains.
