Cotoneaster glaucophyllus Franch. is a plant that reaches 4 metres (13 ft) in height. It bears arched, erect branches that range in colour from greenish to purple-black. Fertile shoots of this species measure 40โ70 millimetres (1.6โ2.8 in) long and hold two to four leaves each. Its pedicels are 2โ6 millimetres (0.079โ0.236 in) long and covered in strigose hairs. The leaves are mid-green, ranging from dull to somewhat shiny, with light green undersides. Both flower buds and open flowers are white, and the open flower corolla measures 5โ6 millimetres (0.20โ0.24 in) wide. The fruits are globose, orange, and 6 millimetres (0.24 in) wide.
