About Cosmophasis baehrae Żabka & Waldock, 2012

Cosmophasis baehrae is a jumping spider in the family Salticidae. Like other members of this family, it has greatly enlarged inner pair of forward-facing eyes. A feature that distinguishes this species from related jumping spiders is the presence of a white bar on the carapace, located just behind the rearmost pair of eyes. Males of this species reach a total body length of 7 mm (0.28 in), while females reach 5 mm (0.20 in). This species has been recorded from the northern coastal regions of Australia, specifically in Queensland and Western Australia. Outside of Australia, it has also been found in the Moluccas, Indonesia.
